ASIEQ Quarterly Members Forum

The Quarterly ASIEQ Members meeting and professional development forum will be held from 9am-12noon on Wednesday 21 February 2024. These meetings are for ASIEQ Members and Associate Members only.
The February forum will be held at the Wesley House, Bellview 9, Level 9, 140 Ann Street, Brisbane. Unfortunately MinterEllison is not available for this forum.
In addition to our quarterly meeting, the forum will include presentations by:
Matthew Worland, Area Manager QLD/VIC and Exercise Physiologist, Guardian Exercise Rehabilitation
Matthew will discuss wholistic treatment strategies for the management of workplace mental injury. In this presentation, Matthew will explore the scientific evidence supporting targeted lifestyle interventions for both the prevention and recovery of mental illness. He will also highlight data from Wholebeing Health initiatives currently being delivered to injured workers, exploring the impact of the interventions on both health and return to work outcomes.
Will Brohm, Senior Physiotherapist, Kieser Australia
“Transforming Workplace Health through Evidence-Based Strength Training Strategies to Prevent Surgical Interventions” . In this presentation, Will will discuss strength training as a proactive approach to prevent and manage chronic conditions in the workplace. Exploring evidence, he’ll discuss how strategic strength training interventions can serve as a powerful tool to mitigate the need for surgical interventions, promoting long-term well-being and resilience among workers.
Marnee Revill, Social Worker, Workers’ Psychological Support Service (WPSS)
WPSS is an independent, confidential and free service helps Queenslanders experiencing a work-related psychological injury to connect with the right community services. This service can be recommended to workers who have claims rejected for additional assistance. Marnee will discuss what services are available to Self Insurer’s.
